 | The goal of the Refugee Case Management Program is to assist refugees throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Area by eliminating barriers to health services and facilitating social adjustment. This program includes health and emergency services, orientation to newly arrived refugees, outreach and referrals, and healthy family services. Staff provides culturally and linguistically competent case management services to newly arrived refugees through the collaborative efforts of the International Rescue Committee and the Vietnamese Mutual Assistance Association. |
Services provided by the Refugee Case Management Program Include:
- Individual psycho-social assessment
- Family orientation
- Stress management
- Advocacy through hospitals, health clinics and public assistance agencies
- Translation and interpretation services
- Information and referrals
- Crisis intervention
- Community outreach
- Healthy Family
To be eligible for this program, individuals must be identified as refugees, having possession of an I-94 or I-551 green card, a valid social security card, and have been in the United States for less than 5 years. Referrals can be made by: hospitals, schools, voluntary agencies, other refugee social service agencies, the Texas Department of Human Services, the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, probation officers, police departments, and employers and businesses.
